The dust has settled. Destiny 2 came out on consoles last week and had a monstrous week. More than one million people were playing Destiny and aside from some ill feelings about micro transactions, it was a pretty successful release. I’m currently writing out my thoughts on the game and you’ll see a Games I’m Playing article on it soon. But, it’s a new week and new games are still coming out. The big news this week is that there’s finally a new Metroid game!
Fans of the Metroid series have been waiting a long time for this and while I’m not one of those diehard fans I can feel their pain on the wait (I’m looking at you Kingdom Hearts 3). I wish I had some rich anecdote about how much I loved Samus as a kid and all that, buuuttt I don’t. Wait, I take that back. I did own Metroid Fusion on the Game Boy Advance. It was a fun game. Samus Returns is a remake of sorts of the 1991 Game Boy game Metroid II: Return of Samus. Fans have been waiting for a while so it’s good they finally have something new to play, if you own a 3DS.
If that doesn’t float your boat, there’s a new chapter in the Dishonored universe.
Death of the Outsider is a stand alone expansion and a quasi-sequel to Dishonored 2. I’m a terrible video game player, so I actually haven’t Dishonored 2, even though I bought the collector’s edition which came with a sick mask and a replica of the Emperor’s ring (which recently broke and has made me very, very sad.)
Sport lovers aren’t left out to dry this week either, with 4 new titles coming out this week. A game in actually really interested in is Divinity: Original Sin 2. I really enjoyed the first one so I might try to get the sequel, I have to talk to my financial advisor. Check out the rest of this week’s releases and let me know if you’re getting anything.
