I’ve seen the future and it will be Batman. To kick off 2016’s E3 conference, Telltale Games put out the first screens of their take on one of my favorite superheroes, Batman (He’s in my top 3). Batman – The Telltale Series drops its first episode this later this summer and I for one CAN NOT WAIT.
Along with the new screens, Telltale also showed off their star-studded cast of voice actors for the game. Troy “He Only Does All the Voices” Baker will be the man behind the microphone for Batman and the man behind the mask Bruce Wayne. He’s also been the voice of several other characters in the Batman video game universe such as the Joker. Also lending their voices to the game will be Travis Willingham as Harvey Dent aka Two-Face, Erin Yvette as Vicki Vale, Enn Reitel as Alfred Pennyworth, Murphy Guyer as Lieutenant James Gordon, Richard McGonagle as Carmine Falcone, and Laura Bailey as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman.
One thing to note is that this will be a completely separate and new Batman story not connected to any existing media out right now. Telltale has a great history of storytelling in their games, and I’m almost certain they’ll keep that history going with their Batman game. This will probably be the first episodic game I purchase either outright or as each episode comes out. (I’m a big Batman fan).
Check out the screens from the upgraded Telltale engine, which helps this game look like a living comic book and stay tuned for more news from Telltale and E3 here!
